PG Certification Programme

Welding professionals with good exposure to theory and practical knowledge are in great demand globally. Tiruchirappalli BHEL Educational Society, a society established by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchirappalli for promoting education in advanced engineering and PSG College of Technology, an institution of repute for higher education in engineering have come together to offer one year  postgraduate certificate programme in Welding and Quality Engineering.

Theory and laboratory classes are conducted at PSG College of Technology in the first quarter and for the remaining period practical oriented internship is provided at BHEL Tiruchirappalli.

As part of this programme,the candidate undergoes ASNT NDT Level II Certification program in all the four NDT techniques and Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) examination of Welding Research Institute, BHEL Tiruchirappalli.

Minimum eligibility for this programme is B.E / B. Tech degree in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy, Automobile, Manufacturing, Mechatronics and allied disciplines. Candidates are selected through an all India entrance test conducted at PSG College of Technology during the month of May every year. Around 20-25 students are trained in each batch. In the past students have got placed in multinational companies from India and abroad.
